Guadalupe Mejia Sandoval ~ Jesus & Jocelyn Mejia Garcia

Guadalupe Mejia Sandoval, 38, Jesus Mejia Garcia, 14, and Jocelyn Mejia Garcia, 11, all from Frankfort, are three family members who were taken away to be with the Lord on April 15, 2023, during a tragic car accident in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.

Guadalupe, the son of Miguel Mejia and Silvia Sandoval, was born in Michoacan, Mexico, on November 26, 1984.  He married Edith Garcia Mondragon on October 17, 2007, and she survives. Guadalupe lived in Frankfort for the past fourteen years and worked for Hachette Book Inc. in Lebanon for the past four years.

Guadalupe was an active, outdoor-loving man who enjoyed cutting down and trimming trees. He also was a big fan of music. He was always happy and cheerful and loved spending time with his children, wife, and other family members.

Jesus, the son of Guadalupe and Edith, was born on June 19, 2008, in Lafayette, IN. Jesus was a happy ninth grader at Frankfort High School, where he will be missed by so many.  He loved listening to music and dance “zapateado.” He loved to play baseball, Nintendo, and spending time with his family and friends.

Jocelyn, the daughter of Guadalupe and Edith, was born on June 23, 2011, in Lebanon, IN. She was attending fifth grade at Suncrest Elementary School, where she had many loving teachers and friends. Joce as her mother used to call her, loved to create TikToc videos. Her favorite ones were about beauty, color, and makeup. Her favorite color was black, and she loved to wear it. Like her brother Jesus, she also liked to dance “zapateado.” They used to dance together, and we believe they will continue to dance up in heaven.

Guadalupe is survived by his parents, wife, a daughter, two brothers and two sisters.  Jesus and Jocelyn are survived by their mother, a sister, grandparents, and several cousins, aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 4, 2023, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Day & Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort.  A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 5, 2023, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 600 St. Mary’s Avenue, Frankfort, IN, with Father Paul Cochran officiating.  Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery.  The family asks that memorials in the names of Guadalupe, Jesus and Jocelyn be given to the funeral home to assist with expenses.

Guadalupe Mejia Sandoval, 38. Jesus Mejia Garcia, 14.
