William A. "Bill" Miller

William A. “Bill” Miller, 84, of Cartersville, Georgia, formerly of Frankfort, passed away Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Piedmont Carterville Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born December 1, 1940, in Frankfort to Harold L. and Ruby G. (Gunyon) Miller. He married Susan Buchanan on June 29, 1962, and she survives.

Bill was a 1959 graduate of Frankfort High School. He attended Ball State University where he earned his BS in Education in 1963, and later his Masters Degree. He worked as a teacher at Jefferson Elementary School for 4 years before he went to the Community Schools of Frankfort for 30 years. At Frankfort, Bill taught 6th grade at Riley Elementary where he coached football, basketball and track. When Riley closed, he moved to Frankfort Middle School where he taught science prior to retiring in 1997. He was a member of Sam Jones United Methodist Church in Cartersville, GA and a former member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church in Frankfort.

Bill enjoyed fishing, golf, and working outdoors. A devoted sports fan, he loved cheering for the Atlanta Braves, Indiana Hoosiers basketball and football, and followed NASCAR. He also found joy in reading and treasured the time he spent with his family.

Along with his wife of 63 years, Bill is survived by his children, Amy Miller, Tim (Leah) Miller, and Meg (Curtis) Stover; grandchildren, Claire Stover, Clayton Stover (Kaylee Dahlin), Collin Miller, and Liam Miller; great-granddaughter, Sophia Stover; and step-grandchildren, Ethan Pettigrew, Sophie Pettigrew, and Mia Pettigrew. He is also survived by his cousin, Cindy Slaven.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of life will be Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 10:30am until the time of the memorial service at 12pm at St. Matthew United Methodist Church.
