William C. "Bill" May

William “Bill” C. May, 83, of Kirklin, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2025, at St. Vincent Ascension Hospital in Indianapolis. Bill was born June 16, 1942, in Beech Grove to Harold Castle and Mildred Faye (Stewart) May. He married Denise Roberson on January 7, 1984, in Frankfort and she survives.

Bill worked several jobs over the years, including, Formica, Precision Trust, and then Chrysler for 30 years, until his retirement in 2008. He was a “Mopar guy.” He enjoyed racing cars with his brother John, working on cars and participating in and going to car shows. He loved cheering on the Indianapolis Colts, Indiana Pacers, and Indiana Fever. He also enjoyed working in the yard and loved working on things around the house. He not only worked as a repairman but lived as one, tinkering and repairing things as he could. Bill was known for being a simple and private man. But those that knew him, knew that above all he loved his family and enjoyed being a husband, father, and grandfather.

Along with his wife of 41 years, Bill is survived by his children, Lori (Edward) LoPresti and William “Bill” (Kim) May, II; siblings, Robert May and Genia (Norm Frodge) Juroff; sisters-in-law, LuAnn Schoen and Gena May; grandchildren, Michelle (John) Everett, E. J. LoPresti, Joseph LoPresti, Dauna Rodgers, Garrett May, Theresa May, Audrey May; and five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Christopher May; siblings, David May, John Schoen, and Thomas Schoen, and grandchildren, William “Billy” May III and Melissa LoPresti.

Visitation will be held Sunday, June 22, 2025, from 2-5pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort. Funeral service will be held at 11am, Monday, June 23 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Bunnell Cemetery. Messages of condolence may be left at www.dayandgenda.com.
