Wayne Jay Gochenour

Wayne Jay Gochenour, 87, Mulberry, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2022, at Brookdale Nursing Home in Carmel.  He was born on October 8, 1934, in Rossville to Fred and Glee (Smith) Gochenour.

Wayne was a 1952 graduate of Rossville High School.  He worked as a farmer.  He was of the Methodist faith.  He enjoyed snowmobiling, watching IU basketball, was an avid NASCAR fan, and enjoyed doing yardwork and riding his lawn mower.  He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.

Wayne married Patricia Sheets, and together they had two children, Cindy (Tim) Konich and Cheryl (Bill) Trimbur.  Along with his children, Wayne is survived by his sisters Patty Bright and Nancy (Kenneth “Buzz”) Disinger; grandchildren, Peter, Marisa and Nicholas Konich; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Mac Gochenour, Mary Lowry, Dan Gochenour, Audrey Ruch, Jack Gochenour, Betty Moss, and Marjorie Cornwell.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 1, 2022, from 10am until the time of the service at 12pm at Genda Funeral Home ~ Rossville Chapel.  Burial will follow at Rossville Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.  Messages of condolence may be left at www.gendfuneralhome.com.
