Timothy L. Payne

July 3, 1959 — January 28, 2024

Frankfort

Timothy L. Payne, 64, of Frankfort, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2024, at Witham Hospital in Lebanon.

Tim was born in Frankfort on July 3, 1959, to Popeye and Marjorie Payne and was a 1977 graduate of Clinton Central High School.  Tim moved to Arizona after graduation, returning to Frankfort in 1995.  He met Starr Ann Lanum, and they married February 14, 1996.  She preceded him in death on February 3, 2021.

Tim worked for many years in the automotive field painting cars, and then started his own construction business until he retired in 2014.  He was a member of Lebanon Christian Church.  He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, doing woodworking and tinkering with his 1966 Malibu Chevelle and going to car shows.  Tim was known for his sense of humor and carefree living.  Stress was not a word that he understood and lived every day in the moment and enjoyed life to the fullest. He genuinely loved others and would give what he had to anyone that needed it.  Above all, he loved his family.  Spending time with his family was precious to him and he cherished the memories he made with his kids and grandkids.  He will be remembered as a true “Payne.”

Surviving Tim are his children, Danee’ (DJ) Graic of Tucson, AZ, Anne (Brian) Britt and Nicole Lanum of Frankfort; grandchildren, Xavier, Jazlyn, Liam and Lukas; sisters, Sandi Clark of Lafayette and Barbara (Greg) Thomas of Tennessee, brother, Tom (Andee) Payne of Tennessee; and sister-in-law, Debbie Payne.

Along with his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John Payne.
