Thelma May Beets, 94 of Sedalia, died on Monday, August 22, 2011, at 3:37 PM at Milner Community Healthcare in Rossville.
Born Monday, May 21, 1917 in Clinton County, Indiana, she was the daughter of the Edward S. and Mary (Brady) Young.
On November 7,1936, she married Paul Beets. He preceded her in death on February 14,1970. She had lived in Sedalia since 1942.
She was a graduate of Frankfort High School in 1934 and was a Tupperware sales manager for 15 years. Thelma loved gardening.
Surviving are sons, Thomas (wife Phyllis) Beets of Fort Wayne, IN and Robert Beets of (wife Shirley) Lacey, WA, daughters, Nancy Gower of Rossville, IN and Ellen Peters of Sedalia, IN, two brothers, Wayne (wife Mattie) Young of Kilmore and Dale (wife Evelyn) Young of Crawfordsville, sister, Laura Vaughn of Columbus, OH; ten grand children; seven great grand children and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Steven and William.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday at Bodine Funeral Home, Rossville. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 28, 2011, at Bodine Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the National Federation of the Blind, 210 Cambridge Dr., Louisville, KY 40214-2809 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
