Ruthie Mae Lockard

Ruthie Mae Lockard, 86, of Lafayette, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2014, at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.

She was born May 23, 1927, in Burksville, Kentucky, to Buddy and Sissie Baer Kilman.  She married Hayden Pryce Lockard; he preceded her in death in January 1980.

Ruthie was a member of the Foster Parent Program and participated as a foster parent.  She retired from Rath Packing Company in Indianapolis.

Surviving Ruthie are one son, Joseph Lockard; two sisters, Rosemary Bishop and Rubie Shootman; and six grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 22, 2014, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home Pasco Chapel, 1780 W. Main St., Greenfield, IN, 46140, from 12:00 p.m. to the start of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m.  Burial will follow in Washington Park East in Indianapolis.  Online condolences to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
