Ronnie Dale Parks, 72, Frankfort, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.  He was born on August 20, 1951, in Tazewell, Tennessee to Hubert and Hazel (Gulley) Parks.  He married Barbara Taylor on January 26, 1971, and she survives.

 

Ronnie worked several jobs over his years, including Crellin Plastics; Community Schools of Frankfort, Zachary Confections until his retirement.  Ronnie served in the National Guard.  He enjoyed fishing and camping.  He was an avid animal lover.  From dogs, to cats to pigs and goats, and to squirrels and birds, he loved having pets around the house.  He was a friend to all and loved being out with his co-workers, friends, and family.  The neighborhood knew and loved him.   He will be missed by all.

 

Along with his wife of 53 years, Ronnie is survived by his son, Don (Marianne) Parks; a brother, Troy Parks; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Benny Roy Parks; a brother, Roy Parks; and sisters, Bonca Sue Parks and Wanda Parks.

 

Celebration of Life will be held from 4-7pm, Friday, May 17, 2024, at Day & Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort.  A formal sharing of memories will take place at 7pm.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.  Messages of condolence may be left at www.dayandgenda.com.
