Patricia J. Culbertson

Patricia J. Culbertson, 84, of Lafayette and formerly of Mulberry, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2019, at Digby Place in Lafayette.  She was born July 6, 1934, in Mulberry, to William L. and Lela Mae (Cary) Goode.  On November 15, 1953, Pat married Kenneth Biesecker; he preceded her in death in 1974.  On February 17, 1985, she married George F. Culbertson; he preceded her in death on March 11, 2013.

In 1952, Pat graduated from Mulberry High School.  She lived in Mulberry for 50 years before moving to Lafayette in 1985.  Pat had worked at Peter Paul in Frankfort before working as a secretary of engineering for 18 years at Fairfield before retiring in 1993.  She was an active member of Mulberry United Methodist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She loved singing, playing dominoes and pegs and jokers, traveling with the NOMADS during their retirement, and helping others. Pat enjoyed wintering in Haines City, Florida at the Heartland Resort for the past 20 years where she was also the activities director.

Surviving Pat are her children, Joni Biesecker, of Lafayette, Jana (David) Virgin, of Lafayette and Michael (Pam) Biesecker, of Lebanon; grandchildren, Crystal (Jason) Fisher, Heather (Joshua) Levchak, Amber Virgin, Jennifer (Jay) Alcorn, Eric Biesecker, and Clay Biesecker; great grandchildren, Madison Fisher, Matthew Fisher, Megan Fisher, Morganne Fisher, Noah Levchak, Elizabeth Levchak, and Brecken Alcorn; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husbands, Pat is preceded in death by eight siblings.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at Genda Funeral Home - Mulberry Chapel from 11:00 a.m. to the start of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m.  Pastors Harley Helm and Todd Hair will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Fair Haven Cemetery. Memorials in Pat’s name may be made to the Neurofibromatosis (NF2) Network,  213 S. Wheaton Ave., Wheaton, IL  60187.
