Max Duane Jones

February 19, 1956 — July 9, 2025

Frankfort

Max Duane Jones, 69, of Frankfort, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born February 19, 1956, in Zanesville, Ohio to James William and Geneva Louise (Roberts) Jones. He married Debbie Downham on September 4, 2004, and she survives.

Max was a graduate of Zanesville High School and went on to earn his associate’s degree from Muskegon College. He worked as a Lab Technician for General Batteries and then as a Construction Estimator for Wayne Jones & Associates. He then worked for Emmerson Electronics until his retirement in 2005. He was a member of the Frankfort Eagles Lodge. He loved woodworking and enjoyed bowling, shooting and collecting guns, playing Rook and Acey Ducey with his brother; and watching western movies and football. He was a family man and loved playing with his grandchildren. While he tried to act like he wasn’t an animal lover, when he thought others weren’t looking you could find him secretly loving on and playing with his family pets. He will be remembered for his goofy, fun-loving personality.

Along with his wife of nearly 21 years, Max is survived by his children, Becky (Fred) Myers, Arella (Emanuel Capshaw) Jones, Russell (Sierra) Hensley; brother, Wayne (Glenda) Jones; sisters, Diane Jones and Kay (Gary) Hamilton; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Linda (Bill) Crothers; and a son-in-law, Kyle Martin.

A private family celebration will be held at a later date. Day & Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort is assisting with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Clinton County Humane Society. Messages of condolence may be left at www.dayandgenda.com.
