Laura J. Stone

Laura J. Stone, 84, of Lafayette, formerly of Rossville passed away at Rosewalk Village on Thursday, February 6, 2020.  She was born in Lafayette on August 29, 1935 to Earl and Ellen Rogers.  She was a graduate of Rossville High School.  She worked several jobs over the lifetime, her last before retiring,  being with the custodial staff at Purdue University.  She enjoyed sewing, baking listening to Elvis and watching the Young And The Restless.

Laura is survived by her grandchildren, Rebecca (Russell) Simmons of Wolcott, David (Eliscia) Schiery of West Lafayette, Daniel Lonas of Fowler, Ashley Barnard of Lafayette, Allen Lonas of West Lafayette, and Anthony Barnard of Lafayette; several great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a son-in-law, Larry Barnard.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, Tammy Lonas and Debra Bernard; and a brother, Abe Rogers.

A private family gathering will be held at a later date.  Genda Funeral Home Rossville Chapel is assisting with arrangements.
