John F. Butler

John F. Butler, 84, of 555 Elmwood Drive, Frankfort died at St. Vincent Hospice, Indianapolis on Saturday, October 9, 2010. He was born on February 15, 1926 in Kokomo, IN to parents James and Luella (Rogers) Butler.

John attended Kokomo High School until he joined the US Navy during WWII in 1943 until the end of the war where he served in the Pacific theater. He was a Meat Cutter and Manager for Standard Groceries-Kokomo and Decature in the 40's and 50's, Owner Operator of Butler Marathons- Frankfort, Delivered for NAPA and Hooks Drugs. He was a member of the Hope United Methodist Church. John was a devoted man who truly loved his family.

He married Betty Joan Perryman on May 19,1948, and she predeceased him having passed away on April 12, 2010.

Survivors include 2 sons: Steven (wife Terry) & Joe (wife Patty) both of Frankfort, 2 Grandchildren: Chris Butler of Avon, IN and Kadi (Derek) of Lublin, Connecticut, 2 Great Grandchildren: Ethan & Avery and Sister Margaret Frye of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Infant daughter Lucinda and 6 brothers and 4 sisters.

PLACE OF BURIAL: Crown Point Cemetery Kokomo IN with Military Rites
CALLING HOURS: 4 PM to 7 PM October 12, 2010 and one hour prior to service at the church PLACE: Genda Funeral Home
