Jerry Joe Cornwell, 77 of Woodland Hills, California, a former resident of Rossville, Indiana, died Friday, November 11, 2011 in West Hills, California. He had been ill since September 2009.

Born April 26, 1934, in Lafayette, Indiana, he was the son of the late Noble W. and Gladys E. Cornwell. He graduated from Rossville High School and Indiana University.

On December 29, 1956, he married Marjorie L. Gochenour of Rossville, and she survives.

Mr. Cornwell was a retired partner in a Westwood, California CPA firm. He was a member of Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California. He enjoyed spending time with his daughters and grandchildren, traveling with Marjorie, corresponding with his high school classmates and following Indiana University basketball and Indianapolis Colts football.

Surviving with his wife are three daughters, Stephanie Weller (husband Robert) of Indianapolis, Indiana; Angela Wong of Calabasas, California and Michelle Pace (husband Vito) of Calabasas, California and a sister Martha Fisher (husband Leo) of Monticello, Indiana.

Also surviving are five grandchildren, Jason Weller, Christopher Weller, Marjorie Pace, Miranda Pace, and Bryan Wong. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. His family was the love of his life.

In California, a memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 19th at the First Baptist Church of Woodland Hills, 5737 Fallbrook Avenue, Woodland Hills, California at 11:00 am.

In Indiana, a memorial service with Masonic Services will be held on Saturday, December 10th at Rossville United Methodist Church in Rossville, Indiana at 11:00 am. Burial with Military Burial Rites will take place at Rossville Cemetery.
