Illena (Shoe) Wilson

Illena Wilson, 91, Frankfort, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Wesley Manor.  She was born November 10, 1932, in Clinton County to Carl and Lorene (Couden) Shoe.  She married Ralph Wilson on June 21, 1952.  He preceded her in death August 10, 1993.

Illena was a graduate of Sugar Creek High School in 1950.  She worked as a beautician for over 50 years out of her home.  She grew up in Hills Baptist Church before becoming a member of Hillisburg Methodist Church. She was a member of the Hairdressers Association, the Young Farmers Group, and several Euchre Clubs.  She enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting, playing cards, baking cakes for special occasions and travel the country with friends and family.  Above all, she loved her family and enjoyed making memories with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Dana (Kevin) Myers and Ronald (Dawn) Wilson; brother, Ferrel (Frances) Shoe; sister-in-law, Marilyn Wilson; grandchildren, Jake (Michelle) Myers, DeAnn (Jason) Berry, Ali (JD Ingram) Chambliss, Marie (Jesse) Stanley; PJ Whitaker; twelve great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  

Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Carolyn Wilson.

Visitation will be held Monday, April 15, 2024, from 4-7pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at 10am at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery.  Pastor Josh Hix will officiate.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hills Baptist Church.  Messages of condolence may be left at www.dayandgenda.com.
