Homer Keith 'Duke' Brenneman

Homer Keith ‘Duke’ Brenneman, of Rossville, passed away on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at his home, having lived 89 years, 2 months, 16 days.  He was born in Pyrmont on March 16, 1932, to Homer D. and Gladys (Moore) Brenneman.  He married Beulah May Wolf on October 9, 1955, in Camden; she survives.

Duke was a hard-working entrepreneur, having employed many family and friends. He had previously owned and operated 2 businesses and in 1987, with his son, started Brenneco Plumbing in Lafayette. He was also an avid photographer and his passion for photography led to a love of traveling which took him many places, including seven trips to the Holy Land.

Surviving along with his beloved wife of 65 years, Beulah, are his children, Colleen Jenkins (husband, Curtis) of Cutler, Janet Eikenberry (husband, Raymon) of Flora, Joyce Skiles (husband, Larry) of Flora, and Gregory Brenneman (wife, Debbie) of Rossville; siblings, Donovan Brenneman (wife, Jean) of Lafayette and Maralee Oyler of Modesto, CA; brothers-in-law, Calvin Wolf (wife, Rachel), John Wolf (wife, Shirley), and Maurice Wolf (wife, Regina); sister-in-law, Velma Miller; 15 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Miller and Robert Oyler; and sister-in-law, Marie Wolf.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 4, 2021, at Genda Funeral Home, Rossville Chapel.  The funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2021, with visitation one hour prior to the service, at Victory in Christ Fellowship, 115 N. Washington St., Flora, Indiana.  Pastor Greg Brenneman will officiate.  Burial will follow in North Fork Old German Baptist Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Franciscan Cancer Center, IU Cancer Center, IU Home Health Care and Hospice, and to all who helped Duke with his health journey.  Also, special thanks for all the prayers, cards, phone messages, food, and love the family has received.  May God bless you!
