Gordon Dean Logan, 72, of Frankfort, died at 6:35 pm, March 17, 2011 at St. Vincent Hospital Emergency Room.

Gordon was born December 8, 1938 in Berwyn, IL to Kenneth and Ellen (Shanks) Logan.  He graduated from South Whitley High School in 1957 and Purdue University with a B.S. and M.S. in agriculture education.  He married his college sweetheart, Della Wiley, on September 1, 1962.  Gordon began his career teaching vocational agriculture first at Lakeville, then Rossville and retired from Clinton Prairie High School after 27 years.  He devoted countless hours to the FFA organization.  He also worked for Farm Bureau Insurance as an agent and in agency training for 6 years.

He was a member of First Baptist Church where he served on the deacon board, past church moderator and taught a Sunday School class.  He also was a member of the Clinton County Retired Teachers, Good Sam’s Club, Clinton County Master Gardeners organization, and was a former member of the Colfax Lions Club.  He enjoyed gardening, reading, traveling, inventing games and was a railroad enthusiast.  Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and never met a stranger.

He is survived by his wife Della, 3 children:  Jeffrey (Mona) Logan of Bellevue, NE, Jana (Steve) Fetch of Export, PA, and Jill (Steve) Lehe of Zionsville, IN.  7 grandchildren, Keri and Abby Logan; Katie, Mary and Andy Fetch; Ellen and Emma Lehe, one brother Richard (Donna) Logan of Eugene, Oregon and sister-in-law Marilyn Logan of Cranbury, NJ.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Kenneth Eugene Logan, and one nephew, Larry Logan.  

Calling will be at Genda Funeral Home, 2:00 - 5:00 PM Sunday.  Service will be 11:00 AM Monday at First Baptist Church with one hour of calling prior to the service, Pastor Chuck Williams to officiate.  Burial will be at Green Lawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of the National FFA Foundation.
