Gee Knee (Sexton) Rioux

Gee Knee Rioux, 87, Flora, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2023, at IU Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.  Gee Knee was born Monday, February 24, 1936, in Broad Ripple to William Alonzo and Marie (Kelm) Sexton.  She married Georges Rioux thirty years ago.  He survives.

She graduated high school and worked for Delco in Kokomo before retiring but spent most of her life caring for her family.  She loved working in her garden and in the yard attending to her flowers, plants, and trees and spending time with her family. She also loved doing all kinds of crafts.

Along with her husband she is survived by her children, Jeff (wife, Patricia) Bates and Rob Bates; two sisters, Cecelia and Kathy; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Sexton and Marie Deck; brothers, William “Billie” Sexton, Homer “Bud” Sexton, and Roger Sexton; a sister, Ellen; and her stepfather, Lawrence Deck.
