Freddie L. Davis, 81, Frankfort, passed away unexpectedly at his home, Thursday, May 29, 2024. He was born July 11, 1942, in Frankfort. He married Carolyn Sue Smith on May 30, 1981, and she survives.
Freddie worked at Jefferson Elevator, Kirklin Elevator and Ag-Max. While working for Ag-Max, he was the one that would put the star on the elevator every Christmas season. He attended Cornerstone Assembly of God where he was active in the Men’s group. He enjoyed drawing and plastic canvas art, plaques, and traveling to Shipshewana. He also enjoyed watching old westerns. He was a caring man and saw the best in people. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his “Little Sugar Pie,” Lily.
Along with his wife of 43 years, Freddie is survived by a son, Patrick Davis; “adopted” daughter, Jennifer (Bruce) Sherrill; grandchildren, Kurt and Lily Sherrill; two other grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Andrew Davis; seven older siblings; and a grandchild, Chelsea Sherrill.
A dinner celebrating Freddie will be held, 12pm, Sunday, June 2, 2024, at Corner Stone Assembly of God. Following the dinner a Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30pm at the church. Pastor Brad Fullerton will officiate. A private burial will be held at a later date at Kilmore Cemetery. Day & Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort is assisting the family with arrangements.
