With deep love and sorrow, I share the sudden and unexpected passing of my husband and love of my life, Edward (Ed) Brian Keller, age 63.
Ed was born in Logansport, Indiana on April 2, 1962 to Donald and Krenta Keller. He passed unexpectedly on Thursday, October 16, 2025 in Lafayette, Indiana – just two days following our return from a 3-week memory filled trip to Europe.
Ed was a 1980 graduate of Rossville High School and a 1990 graduate of Purdue University with a degree in Restaurant and Hotel Management. He held various professional positions at Purdue including Event Planner and University Conference Coordinator. Ed developed deep connections and friendships with many peers and co-workers throughout his life.
Ed was my best friend, true love, confidant, and the only person I ever planned to spend the rest of my life with.
During our 3-week trip, we spent countless hours talking about our dreams and wishes, and planning the rest of our lives growing old together. Our future reality was filled with excitement and dedication to our continuing love story.
Ed felt things deeply in his heart and soul, and would always stand up for what was right. He had strong convictions and regularly played Tom Petty’s “I Won’t Back Down” as a source of strength and pronouncement of his personal beliefs.
Ed had many passions and hobbies with the greatest being his love for antiques and hand-made quilts. He was an avid antique collector (and with certainty could spot a good piece amongst all the rest). He collected and had an extraordinary knowledge of antique quilts with many rare and valuable quilts in his collection. He could talk extensively about the history and details of quality antiques and quilts. This was a passion developed at a very early age when his mother would bring him along to estate sales. I will forever surround myself with these antiques and quilts to honor and keep Ed close to my heart each and every day.
Ed was passionate and advocated for those in need of care or a just a hand to hold. He spent countless days and hours helping care for residents of Carroll Manor in Delphi, Indiana.
My life will never be the same without Ed. There will forever be a hole in my heart that only Ed can fill. I look forward to being re-united with him one day. That will be the greatest day to rejoice and I will look forward to it every day I have left on this earth.
Ed was pre-deceased by his mother, Krenta, on August 4, 2025. He continued to grieve and mourn her loss until his untimely passing. He is survived by his loving husband, Randy Keller of Lafayette, two step-sons Alexander Smith and Jacob Smith of Lafayette, and father Donald Keller of Rossville, Indiana. He leaves behind many friends who will undoubtedly feel the void of Ed’s passing for years to come.
Ed’s wishes were to be cremated with a small graveside service. Arrangements are being handled by Day & Genda Funeral Home, Rossville, Indiana. There will be no viewing or visitation.
The graveside service will be at Deer Creek Hopewell Cemetery, 7128 E 445 N, Camden, Indiana on Saturday, October 25 at 1:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, Ed would want donations made in his honor to the Hamilton County Humane Society, 10501 Hague Road, Fishers, Indiana.
