Donald G. Ward, 82, of Monticello, formerly of Flora, passed away on Tuesday, March 9, 2021. He was born in Carroll County on September 18, 1938 to Harold K. and Katherine E. (Miller) Ward. He married Bonnie K. Chapman on February 6, 1993 at the Assembly of God Church in Logansport; she preceded him in death on September 8, 2002.
After attending Deer Creek High School, Donald joined the Army where he enjoyed being a cook. Throughout the years, he had been a cook at several restaurants in the Monticello area. Donald had been the assistant pastor at the Walton United Methodist Church for many years. He worked at RCA in Logansport, was a truck driver for Schneider National, and a driver for Fred Hartman, delivering campers, boats and trailers and also worked in construction.
Donald is survived by his daughters, Mary Kay (Doug) Whiteman and Debbie (Tom) Ramsey of Monticello; stepdaughters, Candy L. (Marvin) Conklin of Logansport, Kim A. (Rick) Hensel of Walton; stepson, Clark A. Hostetler of Logansport; brothers, Lynn Ward of Lafayette and Douglas D. Ward of Sellersburg; sister-in-law, Toni Ward of Logansport; 17 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Mike K. Ward; daughter-in-law, Linda Ward; one grandchild; brother, Bernie M. Ward; and sisters-in-law, Sandy Ward and Mary E. Ward.
Visitation will be on Saturday, March 13, 2021 from 1 pm until the start of the funeral service at 4pm at Genda Funeral Home~Reinke Chapel. His daughter-in-law, Pastor Noel Whiteman will officiate. Private burial will take place in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Flora.
