Donald D. Balsbaugh

Donald D. Balsbaugh, 87, of Rossville, passed away Monday, May 12, 2025, at Franciscan Health Lafayette East. He was born February 25, 1938, in Englewood, Ohio to Elbert and Mabel (Landis) Balsbaugh. He married Bonnie Miller and she preceded him in passing in July of 2002. He then married Martha "Marty" Kimmel on November 6, 2004, and she survives. 

Donald spent most of his life farming and then worked for many years at Peters-Revington until he retired. He was a member of Cutler Ridge German Baptist New Conference Church. He enjoyed reading, fishing, helping his wife with the garden, taking little trips with his wife, and visiting with his family. He was a quiet man but loved to talk about his passions. Donald enjoyed life and went with the flow of where it led him. 

Along with his wife of 20 years, Donald is survived by his children Reta Etter, Shirley (Brian) Hahn, Dean (Annie) Balsbaugh, daughter in-law Karen Balsbaugh; son-in-law Alan Strike; stepson, Rodney (Laurel) Kimmel; brothers, Kenny (June) Balsbaugh and Dale (Lorraine) Balsbaugh; a sister, Betty Judd; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Along with his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; two children, Judy Kay Balsbaugh and Doug Balsbaugh; and one son-in law Dan Etter. 

Visitation will held Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 2-5pm and 6-8pm at Cutler Ridge German Baptist New Conference Church. Funeral Service will be Sunday at 10am at Cutler Ridge with burial to follow at Musselman Cemetery. Messages of condolence may be left at www.dayandgenda.com.
