Bob Surface
Bob Surface, 64, of Mulberry, Indiana died on Friday, December 3, 2010 in an auto accident. He was born on March 11, 1946 in Broward County, Florida to parents Edward & Vera (Lane) Surface.
Born in Florida, Bob grew up primarily in the Flora and Jackson Twp areas. He graduated from Clinton Prairie High School in 1964 and attended Vincennes University. He worked at Sears in downtown Frankfort for 13 years. He retired as an All-state Agent in 2002 after 27 years. Most recently Bob was employed as the landscape manager for most of the libraries in Clinton County hence the name ""Bob The Gardner"".
He was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran church and a member of the Masters Gardnerâs club. In the past Bob held many officers positions in the Jaycees where this also led to his board positions with Jr. Miss not only locally but also as a Regional Director for Jr. Miss. He was awarded Jaycees International Senator Award. He also coached Babe Ruth baseball.
He married Carol Zipperian on April 17,1965, and she survives.
Survivors include 2 daughters: Amy (Rodney) Graham of Carmel and Rachel Walters of Rossville, 6 Grandchildren: Josh, Brannon, Ryan, Maddie, Cooper and Payton as well as 3 Step-Grandchildren: Walter, Holden and Simon. He was preceded in death by his Daughter, Angie Stinnett, who died in May of 2002.
