Benson "Ben" Emens

Benson F. “Ben” Emens, 84, of Frankfort, passed away March 20, 2022, at IU Arnett Hospital in Lafayette. He was born April 25, 1937, in Frankfort to Fay and Ruby (Weaver) Emens.  On September 2, 1956 in Mason, he married Mary Jane “Janie” Lashbrook.

Ben graduated in 1955 from Colfax High School and was the owner and operator of Green Acres Fertilizer Plant for 38 years. 

 In addition to his wife, Janie, Ben is survived by his son, David (Ming) Emens of Appleton, Wisconsin; daughter, Leisha (Dennis) Leckrone of Forest; brother, Phil (Jane) Emens of Cambria; grandchildren, Adrian Emens, Amie (Alan) Conley, Neal (Kasey) Leckrone, and Brooke (Riley) Eller; and 10 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Fay Emens and Ruby Emens Moore, Ben was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Sally (Leonard) Petre.

Private services will be held with burial in the Green Lawn Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort.
